More on the differences between Silverlight Templates.

John discusses the differences between Silverlight and WPF regarding control templates which I’ve mentioned in the past. Sounds like in Beta 2 they are making some more changes — yet still not feature compatible with WPF. No triggers. Bleck. Triggers with setters rock and give designers simple power. Maybe what he’s talking about is better in some way — but it still doesn’t sound like a trigger. :(

If Microsoft concentrated on ONE thing, what would you pick?

If Microsoft were to spend time on just ONE thing for the next 6-8 months — what would you pick?

  • Vista+
  • .NET Framework 4.0
  • Silverlight
  • WPF/WCF/WF/etc..
  • Exchange Server
  • Windows Server
  • Marketing (seriously — trying to address the negative market)
  • Zune
  • Other — but it can’t be more than one identifiable thing.

Remember, just one thing.  Just one. :)

You can rank them if you’d like — because I know it’s hard to select. But — no ties for first place.

My list would look like this:

Vista, Silverlight, .NET, Marketing, Everything else.

The only reason I’d pick Vista first is because there’s such a bad impression of Vista right now — sometimes rightfully so (and many are just Vista-bashers).

Memorial Day …

In the United States, we’re remembering today (Monday, May 26, 2008) those who have fought and died for our country in the armed services. I thought this photo from my recent vacation in New Mexico was fitting….
